Well, this month has provided us with a stress-test, we have had family over from the UK and it's been pigging hot!! They arrived late on March 21st and left early on April 17th.

Stress test for me - My 10 year old grandson, Harry, is ADHD and autistic. He's a lovely kid but talk about Jekyl and Hyde. He can turn from a bright (far too intelligent for my own good) boy into a fire-breathing monster and back again in micro-seconds!!

Stress for the solar system - They've been running the A/C on "arctic" during the day as well as at night, even my Thai grand-daughter's pet penguin was cold!

Instead of our usual <50kWh per day they've been burning through 100kWh+ every day.

That, coupled with a few overcast days, meant we had to use 246kWh from the grid, costing 1,006.96 Baht (the PEA bill estimator is down so I used the MEA estimator). Of course that contrasts with the 15,078.37 Baht it would have cost if we didn't have solar.

One major plus was that we took our batteries from 100% full to low-voltage cutoff. This allowed the SmartShunt to accurately measure our battery capacity at 2,661Ah of 52V LiFePO4 (about 138kWh).

I need to get my boy to get going on the grandkids...

I have a great nephew that is ADHD (AKA a boy) and he was a handful. They got him into hockey and almost all the issues went away.

Of course now they've gone it's been hammering down all day, at least it's knocked the edge off the heat although the humidity is through the roof.

And food! Young 'un has hollow legs. Madam has been staring into the empty void that is our freezer, makro on Monday methinks.

Love 'em to bits really, but it's great when they leave!!
