China will not tolerate attempts to separate Hong Kong from China - state media

SHANGHAI (Reuters) - Hong Kong is an inseparable part of China and any form of secessionism "will be crushed", state media said on Monday, a day after demonstrators rallied at the U.S. consulate to ask for help in bringing democracy to city.

The China Daily newspaper said Sunday's rally in Hong Kong was proof that foreign forces were behind the protests, which began in mid-June, and warned that demonstrators should "stop trying the patience of the central government".

Chinese officials have accused foreign forces of trying to hurt Beijing by creating chaos in Hong Kong over a hugely unpopular extradition bill that would have allowed suspects to be tried in Communist Party-controlled courts.

Anger over the bill grew into sometimes violent protests calling for more freedoms for Hong Kong, which returned to Chinese rule in 1997 under a "one country, two systems" formula.

Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam formally scrapped the bill last week as part of concessions aimed at ending the protests.

"Hong Kong is an inseparable part of China — and that is the bottom line no one should challenge, not the demonstrators, not the foreign forces playing their dirty games," the China Daily said in an editorial.

"The demonstrations in Hong Kong are not about rights or democracy. They are a result of foreign interference. Lest the central government's restraint be misconstrued as weakness, let it be clear secessionism in any form will be crushed," it said.

State news agency Xinhua said in a separate commentary that the rule of law needed to be manifested and that Hong Kong could pay a larger and heavier penalty should the current situation continue.

The 5 demands of the protesters do not mention independence, China got HK and Maccau de listed as colonies by the UN in 1972 so that Independence was never on the table. The best they can hope for is what the devious CCP signed up to, one country two systems until 2047

Hong Kong's banking system is too critical to China's CCP leaders to allow it to be lost. And there is no way the CCP is going to allow anyone to set an example to the rest of China that there is any alternative to falling in line. The absolute best HK could fight for is to extend the "one country two system" concept past 2047. Odds are they will be lucky to even keep it until 2047, or even next year.

Well, you are in away, correct.

Look at the demonstrators in Hong Kong. They ARE a bunch a Chin...   The media has decided to call them Hong Kongers, but they look the same as Chin..., that's because they are,

The latest nonsense is, is that the Chin in Hong Kong are trying to tell Trump to go to Hong Kong, and save them from another bunch of Chin.

Let's get real here. Don't trust the Chin, let the Chin sort out their own problems. Not one drop of our soldiers' blood should be shed for the Chin. Let the Chin butcher other Chin. Never trust a Chin....

If Hong Kong residents want freedom they are going to have to flee.  China is very xenophobic so any problems they face are always caused by foreigners.  After all, Chinese citizens are thrilled with their government!

Flee ?

Where are them Chinese in Hong Kong going to flee to ?  People in Australia, Vancouver and Britain, do actually know that them Hong Kongers are Chinese.

Do the Australians want more Chinese in Australia ? Do them people in Vancouver want more Chinese in Vancouver ? Do people in Britain want more Chinese people in Britain ? And telling people that these new migrants are not actually Chinese, that they're Hong Kongers, well, it isn't going to work. Chinese from China, Chinese from Hong Kong, Chinese from Vietnam. Most people feel that they're all the same.

These Chinese sound like the daleks from Dr Who. Personally I think there are similarities between them and Nazi Germany in the 30’s.

How so?

Never was. HK is a SAR, doesn't contribute to Central Goverment. Shanghai is China's business capital these days. HSBC is not one of the big four national banks.

How so?

1. They like to describe themselves as communist. They are not by any definition communist. They are a fascist totalitarian state.

2. They are led from the top down by someone who has positioned himself as dictator for life.

3. That someone purged his rivals.

4. They have a massive propaganda machine spreading their message.

5. They have millions of people in concentration camps (Uighurs).

6. They are supremely nationalistic and xenophobic.

7. They have designs on the territory of other countries (all the counties with sea access around them are concerned and China was laughed out of court for their ridiculous territorial claims).

How are they NOT like pre war Nazi Germany is the more pertinent question.

I forgot to mention a few things:

8. The Nazis would have loved their ability to spy on and control every aspect of their peoples lives and to keep them ignorant.

9. No rule of law. (Maybe even the Nazis had that).

10.  Harvesting of organs - Nazis were not able to do that due to lack of technological know how.

Anyway Traubert I think all things considered one can see the CCP and the Nazis have a lot in common.

That's pretty much applicable anywhere where they tried communism. It's a natural progression of the ideology into practise and the reason why it won't work when there are humans involved. It was a nice theory, though.

But it's a different branch of fascism, Hitler hated the commies. A competing cousin of his ideology.
