Is it possible for a Thai National to buy a condo for a foreigner? For example, can a Thai buy a condo outright for their non-Thai spouse and have it in their spouses name? Or does the money need to come from outside Thailand in all circumstances for a foreigner to hold the title? Thanks.

If foreigner has Thai PR, money doesn't have to come from abroad, for the condo to be in the name of the foreigner, no matter who pays, if it is cash purchase.

But if foreigner is not having PR, then the money must come from abroad for the condo to be in foreign name.

There is also the problem of the foreign quota.its best if the Thai just gave you the money

and you buy it in your name , if you have Thai PR.otherwise the funds must come from

abroad.

Why can't the Thai gift it to the foreigner?

 He can.

However a FET is still required. Money equivalent to the appraised value of the condo has to be brought in.

Section 19 of the condo act decrees.

The money remains with the foreigner. The problem could be finding the money in the first place.

There is no legal work  around to this circumstance
