Gambling ban driving Tens of thousands Chinese nationals away

Tens of thousands of Chinese nationals ... gambling, or gaming people ... that's a road to success and happy households. Seriously, if a few percent of them are crooks, relative to the mass of visitors, they can easily overwhelm the Cambodian system.  Armageddon!

banning all online and arcade gambling in the Kingdom in a bid to safeguard security and public order.

That is the same logic used to harass expats at immigration...must be a catch-all phrase to run off tourists and retirees...????

They are running the online gambling in Cambodia, usually in hotels, because it is illegal in China.

What a fantastic scam ! Get the Chines to build countless casinos in Sihanoukville, and then ban gambling ????

Not the same. Online gambling is banned, not casinos.

Lots of the on-line gambling sites were run out of the back rooms of the casinos.  Win-win for the casinos.  Win money from the Chinese who travel to Sihanoukville to gamble and from those who stay at home and gamble on-line.

Could become a reality with ever decreasing tourist figures!

Maybe when the yuan replaces the dollar in the system ..

Or when wholesale opium supplies to China resume!
