What a bunch of clowns, haven’t a clue what they are demanding.

Exactly, she is doubtless at home in the families mansion right now along with her wealthy parents preaching to the masses!

few interesting aspects of this. No doubt something needs to be done. And I do believe that any positive change in this nation, is going to come from the youth. They are our only hope. They will eventually get rid of the army. I believe that.

Thailand cannot even control it's own air quality issues. The nation experienced the worst pollution in decades, this past year. And what has been done about it? They are blaming vehicles. And diesel engines are not helping. Thailand is one of the few nations on earth, that is still actively promoting the sale of diesel vehicles. Second, what is being done to regulate the burning of sugar cane, which is the chief culprit? Nothing whatsoever. Are they looking into alternative harvesting methods? No. Are they encouraging sugar cane farmers to find alternative crops? No. What are they doing? Nothing at all. Thailand remains one of the least progressive nations on earth, when it comes to the environment. And they are lecturing Indonesia? Where is the moral authority?

It is probably going to take kids like Greta, marching on parliament, and humiliating the leaders, before something begins to happen here. Usually in Thailand, the only time we see real progress on an issue, is AFTER the nation has been severely embarrassed internationally. Nothing comes from within naturally. Nothing happens because it is good for the people, or the right thing to do.

Chances are, the politicians are owned by the sugar industry lobbies. The damage inflicted on the environment by cane burning must stop.

???????????? being passionate about arresting a global issue is never a bad thing. All you jaded old farts can <deleted> off...

Agreed-thank the good lord Harry that most of 'em have been pensioned off by their respective nanny states (how they hate their "nanny" states-and just about everyone and everything else) and now inhabit an internet "Twilight Zone" located,i believe, somewhere West of the sun and East of the moon.

Just keep your head in the sand. Nothing ever changes, right? Never the fault of man. The planet is so vast, we can pollute the ocean with an unlimited amount of plastic, oil, and waste, and it will never make a difference. We can spew an unlimited amount of pollution and toxic gases into the atmosphere, and nothing will ever change. We are not responsible for any harm, of any kind, on any level. Right?

At least that is what big industry says, irresponsible leaders, and their lobbyists say. Why not believe them?

Next time you pee in the ocean, make sure you sound the alarm so the nations of the world can close their beaches for a day.

7 Eleven has removed all the trash cans at their stores in Bangkok. Just take a look at the rubbish near those stores now. Average Thai just throw the empty packages, cans, bags around the stores. We have a 7 Eleven on less than 100 meters in our street. With some wind we see all the trash from 7 Eleven blown through the street.

Hey 7 Eleven, get those trash cans back in front of your stores !!!

You are amongst many millions who refuse to acknowledge personal responsibility, for stewardship of this amazing, wonderful, and very fragile planet.

I don't pee in the ocean. Oh, yes, I do.

Do you think I broke the ocean?

They had a rally in Melbourne yesterday also and you should have seen the piles of rubbish they left behind.

I was in Melbourne during and after the demonstration. Never seen any rubbish apart from the stuff in the bins. Some had spilled over but certainly nothing to worry or complain about as it was all cleaned up right after they crowd dispersed.

Without being to critical,  after all they have been brainwashed by some sketchy adults with their own  agenda, I would like to know what it is they plan to do about the real air quality problem...volcanoes.  The active volcanoes around the world are responsible for 90+ percent of air pollution....with some....no,  a lot of help from China and India.  Please tell me They have a plan........

Oh Dear God...well at least your are on the side of the most greedy and self centered Public Figure I have ever come across ... the President of the USA... who wants to ignore climate warnings for the profit motive and nothing else . I’m on my way out and I’m ashamed to think of the waste my generation created and Thailand is so bad you struggle to refuse the plastic bags and spoons and straws in  a 7/11 store and what is worse the young people behind the counter are puzzled that you don’t want them . I apologise to my grandchildren for the mess we have created. Probably will take a few more years for the penny to drop with some people . Sad .

...

Good grief.

They are protesting against the use of fossil fuels that cause greenhouse gasses

The use of and waste caused by plastics is a different and real issue.

Well, as a sensible and rational individual, couldn't we agree that both of these areas create their own set of environmental issues that need to be dealt with, sooner or later?
