September 30, 20196 yr I just got a new US passport. My old non immigrant multiple entry expires in February in my old passport. My current entry is good until December 11. I am planning on going to Ho Chi Minh City in December with my wife. Can I get a new non o then. I don't mind losing the 2 months on my old visa. It's more of a matter of convenience since we will be there in December.
September 30, 20196 yr No problem to apply for a new non-o visa using your new passport. The will not know you have a valid one in you old passport.

Trippy huh If you have an unexpired permission to stay, protected by a re-entry permit, having the old passport so your permission to stay can be transferred to the new passport is important. Apart from that, if you do not have your old passport then, of course, any visa in your old passport will no longer be available to enter Thailand. Otherwise, there is no need to transfer any old stamps, and your old passport is not needed.
