How many other countries have such a sensitive border? Maybe Boris should just suggest that North Ireland should be united with Ireland. Then this is no UK problem anymore and they can leave and

Well that might well be his last chance to avoid a ' no deal ' Brexit , up to the EU to agree to this ( and the british parliament of course ...) I doubt that he will be able to keep his promise to get Britain out of the EU by the end of this month .

But , if he manages a ' no deal ' Brexit , people will say that everything that happens after is his fault ...

Well if he achieves any sort of Brexit at all, people will be saying that if he could manage that in 3 or 4 months, why the hell couldn't she manage it in over 3 years.

Surely it would just put the border in the Irish sea?  On Breakfast TV today Johnson was talking about cows and cheese and avoiding answering any pertinent questions concerning the Irish border issue.

Why should/would he answer pertinent questions to the talking heads?

It is not as though they are able to do anything but talk over or argue with the interviewee, they are just overpaid talking heads.

It was clear when the EU came back with the figure for the divorce settlement and Johnson said "tell them they can whistle for it", just where he stood on leaving the EU.  He was always about leaving with no deal.  Then later when the ERG said that they had alternative proposals for an EU deal and failed to come up with anything.

And was Teresa May still the PM at the time?

That the idea it might be a good idea to have a plan has at last dawned on Brexiteers is, I suppose, an improvement.

Considering that the previous PM had over 3 years to come up with an alternative plan and did not, many Brits are happy that someone has.

Can’t he just use one of those loopholes or just ignore the Benn act? That would at least give us Europeans more to laugh; either he will make a fool of himself again or (should there really be a working loophole) he will divide and ruin Brexit-Britain even more. That’s the sweet thing about Brexit — Brexiteers always lose, whatever way they take. And it was clear from the beginning because unicorns just don’t exist, even when you vote for it.

Brexiteers have lost nothing so far. We will see.

I think we covered that one some time ago, Bill.

Excuse me ???? !…., only as much as half +a bit (52%) than the "whole country" , if so sure the " whole country" …, why not risk a referendum as then it could show your "Whole of the country" is behind him...? As then I would only be even an improved (100%) confirmation of that ...????

Er, only the EU don't want that! They want an agreement but one they dictated. Especially the 39 billion GBP, ties on many things, like fishing ground entries, and to dictate all future negotiations. That way, they can demonstrate to other member nations the reality of trying to leave "on friendly terms".

The EU have no choice. Agree a Win/Win deal and then others will want the same or similar.

But don't worry little Europeans. The new ruling political class, who are above the law, and most certainly not accountable to the electorate, will implement their socialist federal state of Europe, regardless of whether most people want it or not. A totally bureaucratic riddles state in which exploiting loopholes becomes the new currency of power.

A Federal State of Europe - almost as if Orwell could predict this when he wrote animal farm!

This is a terrible example unless I have missed something.  1984 would have been far better. Notwithstanding the implied geographical connection with the US in 'airstrip one', I'm pretty sure Eurasia encompasses pretty well all of europe (but not Ireland fwiw).  The european countries represented in AF were constantly at odds with each other, so if Pilkington represents the UK, does Frederick mean all the other euro lot, and what of Animal Farm itself?

The way things seem to be going seem far more 1984 than Animal Farm to me to be honest.

Who are you quoting when you say the "whole country" it certainly isn't me, I never said that, why are you inferring I did?

I said the country, which means the majority, the country just wants this this comedy of errors over with, which includes many remainers, and of course there will be some resistance from a small pocket of radical remainers, there always is.

Your figure of 52% is totally meaningless, now it would be a lot higher if just for the fact that the citizens have had enough of this charade and they need closure.

Here is the latest poll showing that "the country" needs closure.

Not sure it is oldhippy.  My FIL is a bricklayer and speaks like a modern person.   Kingdong seems to be putting his money where his mouth is and chanelling the 1600's.
