sending parcel hat yai to penang

Featured Replies

hi
does anyone know of a good parcel service from hat yai to penang about 5kg-10kg box
or if any of the mini van services would take it
nothing illegal
shipping from bkk always involves a boat or plane kind of bizarre considering road rail links
thanks

And why can't you simply use Thai post?

I can not decypher this sentence.

Anyone?

Of course Hat Yai to Penang is simply surface mail.

No airmail, ship or whatever.

An " Int’l Parcel-Surface" of 9.9 kg to Malaysia would cost 1030 Baht (without insurance/registration).

because thai post will fly it

shipping/sending.posting from bangkok seems to exclude road and rail
they either send by boat or air which in reality is bizarre there are rail links right down to the border where passengers can leave a thai train and get on a malaysian one
so why not a package

plus the cost of thai post is just too expensive but if you consider that they want to involve a plane or boat into sending a parcel to a neighbouring nation no big surprise there

not finished

OK, got it.

So you say that it is always by air.

Maybe someone knows more.

From their rate/fee calculator is not clear.

Air would cost 1400 for 9.9 kg.

exactly not clear plus i dont use thai post anymore they lost a parcel to germany it was not registered and no great value but on a trust scale i'd rather use a private company
for domestic we have kerry

in malaysia gdex

but its that whole border customs thing
it is very surprising how little trade is done between these two countries
& Padang Besar Freight terminal is pretty large on Malay side

i think if you inquire surface post involves a boat it doest go by land

& if thats the case it would ship from hat yai - bkk-kl then penang

thai post 1030
i can personally travel there cheaper and would if the two land crossings per year did not exist.
thai post is garbage
kerrys sudden rise is testament to that
