How many days in advance for retirement extension?

Featured Replies

Yea! it's me again, just trying to juggle my reporting days.

As in the title how many days/weeks in advance can I go for my annual retirement extension?

Why don't the 90 day reporting and and annual extension days ever line up

Cheers.

Because the new 90 days start on the date you do the report. You can make the next report date up to 7 days later by doing it after the report date.

Also if you do your first extension 30 days early (for example) you start out with a report date that will be due 30 days earlier than the end of your permit to stay.

Eagerly waiting for the promised new app to do the 90 day report online (even for me with the new passport).

All will be good then.

Hope never dies

Some offices accept reporting by postal mail (just saying).

I did my last extension in Khon Kaen on Sep 10, due date Oct 8.

No surprises at all, not worth to write about.

I read on the immigration website that the postal application must arrive not less than 15 days in advance. But who knows what each immigration office thinks! And what if it gets lost in the post?

I wish they would sort out their mess, I am unable to do it online. When I asked about this I got no help nor explanation at CW.

I send it by EMS (3x Baht).

Highly unlikely it gets lost and in case they accept the registration slip as proof.

And it's only photocopies/printout. So not a big affair if lost on return.

(I even put enough stamps for EMS on return and they did!)

15 days? I sent it 8 days before or so.

Biggest challenge: getting stamps with useful denomination.

Our local post only had 3 Baht stamps

I don't know whether CW accepts report by postal mail.

Yes they do.

The 15 days before rule is their rule. As far as I know they are the only office that enforces it.

In Koh Samui, only 7 or 10 days before...They are very strict about it and categorically refuses 30 days before.
