(Thailand  Brexiteers & remainers …. time to start sending Bum Gunn's direction U.K.????)

Brexiteers will say it is the ultimate in "project fear", but it's claimed the nation could be caught short by a scarcity of toilet roll after the UK leaves the European Union.

Remainers will insist it shows Brexit is going down the pan, but a manufacturer has suggested some toilet paper supplies might not withstand long-term border delays or panic buying in the event of no-deal.

Good. We can start making our own dunny rolls again, like many other items. This will reduce imports and the transportation of same, helping to reduce carbon and other GG emissions. Maybe our Extinction Rebellion brats might see the light and demonstrate against the truly wasteful, OTT, polluting fuel-burning caused by all kinds of stuff that is often transported across Europe and back to satisfy the tastes of the elite and/or the convenience and greed of large businesses.

Just in time? Maybe not. But it's difficult to have a relaxing dump without a bogroll in plain sight!

Talk of Revoking starting to bubble up - I'm for a No Deal and let the electorate see the chaos for a couple of months with no election - the fishing industry have said they will lose 50% of their markets overnight with no deal and they need a 1000 more vets for the paperwork involved bit late now to start bleating same from the farmers.

So let's have No Deal and let's shove the faces of these leavers boneheads into the mess they have been cheering on and smash the pound. And I'm serious - Johnson was always lying he has said no democratically accountable PM could ever impose a no deal on the UK. So let's get on with it No Deal on the 31st - no ifs and buts and let's see how wonderful this clean break Brexit really is. Really fed up with this nonsense time for the leaver idiots to have some  accountability at last rather than spouting fact free nonsense and spewing the lies and nonsense of a bunch of chancers, spivs, idiots and the vulture disaster capitalists. And if people get hurt then we know to blame. Enough is enough.

Honestly that is probably not an optimal strategy.  When people have made a choice as emotional as brexit, and problems start to develop, the normal human reaction is to double down on that choice rather than immediately jump to the conclusion that the belief was wrong. It takes considerable time and serious hardship for anyone to change their minds. Combine that with the fact that the government won't remain stagnant and just accept the problems. They will offer financial relief for those affected by the changes, they will sign emergency deals or begin government to government negotiations to try and find markets for their products.

You are going to need to delay elections by 2-3 years if you really want your strategy to have a chance at success. And there is always the chance that the effects won't be as bad as predicted and things will work out just enough to minimize any serious consequences.

It is best to actually face the problem head on and find a compromise now, rather than waiting and hoping people come around to your view later. People cling to their own values much more strongly than you think.

Well if we have to go knocking on the door in 6 months we will not the favourable term we already have...

The only thing I can agree on is the use of the word Boneheads

All the EU has to do is say "There will be no passporting of financial services from the UK to the EU upon a no deal Brexit".

I thought that was pretty much taken as read now anyway ?

That's right, because it happened. No amount of desperate derision will change the fact.

And where were you, a forum member in good standing, when the bus was proudly rolled out?

Couldn't you just look back in the numerous other threads where we have discussed this, or do you want to do it all again ?

No need. The bus thing happened. No Thaivisa member who wishes to leave the EU pointed out at the time that they did not believe the bold claim on the side of the bus.

My point stands.

Loo roll shortage no problem, we have a perfect alternative, indeed it's the only sensible use for the Sun and the Mail. Maybe they can even be persuaded to print their poison on softer paper.

The point that I made in the previous threads when we discussed this is was : "Would anyone who voted Brexit , not have voted Brexit and voted Remain instead, had the figure on the bus had been £ 250 Million .?

I have forgotten how you replied to that last time we talked about it

As it had always been.

France is trying to get a piece of this power, and they might succeed somehow.

The U.K., as a big important nation, tried also, they failed, so they want to leave the E.U..

Fully understandable, as

the U.K. not being a nation to take orders, but more one to give them.

Adding to that it would not been imaginable that "Tommies" should have to take orders from the "Krauts" and maybe even the "Frogs".

The other way around, of course.

In the meantime, we Belgians (a non-country) let the dogs bark.

As so far, this E.U. stuff, doesn't affect us, people, directly.

Well except that, quite certain, some money from the taxes we pay, go to it.

With Brexit we may have to pay a bit more taxes, but that will than be considered as the fault of the U.K..

It is always someone else fault.
