Extension visa no tm30 Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Hi all,

a bit stressed out - just found at this afternoon that my landlord who lives abroad has not registered me with immigration.

i was going to the immigration office in Pattaya on Monday to extend my visa but don’t even know if they will supply me with an extension now.

can someone please advise what I can do?

thanks

Well, you could contact the landlord and ask him/her to send it online, there is an app now.....

You could ask the people you checked in with.....

I recall, I read once a story here like yours where the tenant had to pay the fine at the immigration before he got the extension.....

Immigration will be closed on Monday the 14th for a holiday.

Jomtien is strict on the TM30 reporting. You can do it yourself as the possessor if you have copy of your rental agreement and the owners house book and ID card if they are Thai.

If not then you could check into on a hotel on Monday that does the report online and use the hotel's address when you apply for the extension on Tuesday.

He can self report himself as the guest as the possessor using a copy of the rental contract and the usual copies from the passport: info page, entry stamp and TM6-card. Plus the TM30 form of course.

This is another good example of how "the rules" vary from one office to another. I just returned to Hua Hin on a METV, where I rented the same condo as last visit which ended 5 months ago. Last time the condo staff said "No - you go" when I asked if they would register me. So I did armed only with a rental agreement and I did successfully file a TM30. Condo staff said the same this year and after some confusion at the immigration office another IO intervened in the transaction and clearly stated that as I have a tourist visa it is the condo's problem and not my problem. They sent me on my way. I informed the condo staff.

Where is your landlord?

Jomtien isn't that strict about the TM30 report. It's now ok to do the report within 3 days after coming back from abroad. And never when travelling in Thailand and coming back to the last reported address.

My landlord owns 2 condos for investment and rental income and lives in her house here. She defers management to the condo staff. Many, if not most here are rented out rather than owner occupied. I assume that the staff reported my stay. I do not plan to chase the TM-30 topic with staff as I come and go. It does not seem to be so strict here.

For an extension on a tourist visa ,Jomtien does ask for the TM30.

I filed for myself at the Thayang IO (Phetchaburi province) as possessor of my rental property at my extension renewal last May. The previous day my extension documents were rejected because I didn't have the TM30 from the my landlord.

I came home, got one from the landlord, but also did one myself. Returning the next day I gave her my version. It was accepted without a question and I had my extension in a few minutes.
