Getting to Thai border with Koh Kong (Cambodia), what to tell the driver?

Checking a map I see that Chanthaburi is actually about 150+ km from the Cambodia border to Koh Kong.

I'll be moving some stuff and need to get to the border where the cart pushers are to get my stuff across. Can someone advise me on what the best thing is to tell the Thai driver to get to the right place?

I would like to go to Koh Kong near the Cambodian border. How much is it?

ฉันอยากไปเกาะกงใกล้ชายแดนกัมพูชา ราคาเท่าไหร่?

C̄hạn xyāk pị keāa kng kıl̂ chāydæn kạmphūchā rākhā thèā h̄ịr̀?

Is there something wrong with:

bai promdaen hat lek

Seems simple enough. Cham Yeam is the actual name of the border, but Hat Lek is the border town and possibly more recognizable to a driver in Chantaburi. In a pinch, point and say "Cambodia".  I'm sure you can get your point across.

Just make sure the driver knows you want to go south towards Trat and not east towards the border crossing at Prum which is actually much closer to Chantaburi.

Then it would be easy to say:

Bai Cham Yeam, Kampucha ( Kamen), dai mai khrap? Thaorai khrap?

Can you drive me to Cham Yeam, Cambodia? How much is it?

bai hat lek, dàan prom daen (border)

(like post #4)

What can go wrong?

There is no other road than Sukhumvit (#3) down south which ends at the border.

A small strip of land with no escape.

Virtually impossible to take a wrong route.

I did not want to start an entire thread on this.

Is there some rule against posting photos of people in here?

I cannot believe the most popular, long running thread in this place is NOT "post you best photos of cute Thai girls here".
