Briggsy Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 How would I go about sourcing Thai vinyl from the 70's? Apparently there was a genre/offshoot of look thung influenced by American artists such as James Brown. Any ideas? Or even names of artists from that era producing that type of music.
samsensam Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 (edited) there's at least one vinyl shop at fortune mall, bangkok. and i was wandering round the back streets near sanam luang last year and saw a really old style record shop, counldn't give directions but its in the area behind ratchadamnueng avenue at the sanam luang end, i'm sure the locals would be able to give you directions, or it's a great place to wander and explore. White Christmas13 Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 I could give you many vinyls I have heaps in Thailand but I am not there anymore
blackcab Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 A good start might be Zudrangma Records on Sukhumvit Soi 51. I believe they are something to do with Studio Lam and possibly W T F Cafe. 1
Briggsy Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 Thanks for the replies. Can you give any 70's artists that may have copied a funk sound with a Thai twist.
