Malaysia question KL to Penang bus

Featured Replies

Did this trip a while back but I can't remember where I went from and details seem a bit conflicting online.....

Does anyone know which station in KL the express bus goes from and how frequently?

Cheers

they got cheap long distance high speed trains now so no one with any sense catches the buses

There is a modern train running from KL Sentral to Butterworth (Penang Sentral) a few times a day. It takes around 4h and costs around 20 USD.

From Butterworth you can catch a ferry to the island. Or a taxi, Grab, bus, whatever - they are quite well connected.

Here are the timetables etc: https://www.ktmb.com.my/
