OAm Visa Insurance Options

The following information has been compiled from companies listed on the tgia longstay website. Most information was from company websites, some also from email or Line inquiries to companies and brokers.

This is as of 21 October. One company (Sompo) is still developing their product so no info on them yet.

At present there are NO policies available to people  already over age 75 from the companies listed which guarantee renewaL

Information on the use of a foreign policy BEYOND THE INITIAL YEAR OF THE VISA remains unclear/conflicting and clarification is still being sought.  At last report Hua Hin Imm was saying they would accept if meet the 400/40 criteria. Several other IOs quoted as saying only Thai policies acceptable but this is an evolving situation.

Based on the criteria of lifetime or virtually lifetime renewal being guaranteed (a must for anyone wanting to retire here permanently) the document attached outlines the options depending on your current age from among the companies listed on the TI-approved site.

Update: there is a Ministry of Public Health Guideline out which lists 2 companies not currently showing on the tgia website: Bangkok Insurance Co and Syn Mon Kong. I am trying to verify whether these also have policies that can be used even though they do nto appear on the website. At this point it is unclear if they were initially planned and dropped out or are late additions that do not yet show on the website.

Bangkok  Insurance confirmed but starts in December. Syn Mon Kong company informed me today they chose to drop out of the longstay insurance scheme So the total is 13: the 12 companies listed on the website plus, starting in December, Bangkok Insurance Co.  These are reflected in the updated chart.
