Immigration Police chief Lt-General Sompong Chingduang on Tuesday announced the arrest of [name removed] a New Zealand national, on charges of opening a restaurant and bar without a licence, working without a work permit, and allegedly possessing narcotic substances.

Indian coastguard shoot at Thai tourist boat as it enters India’s waters

On Tuesday (October 22), Ranong villager Supanya Nakthongkun told reporters that she had received a message from her son Witchanai, a member of the cruise ship that took 30 Chinese tourists on a diving trip near Myanmar, that the ship had been shot at by Indian coastguard when it entered Indian waters.

Video game show to stir creativity of Thai industry

The video game market in Thailand is expected to grow 13 per cent year on year to Bt22,000 million in sales this year, part of an estimated Bt140 billion for the Asean region, while the global market is currently valued at Bt4.6 trillion.

EC clears Thanathorn over his blind trust remark

The Election Commission (EC) has cleared Future Forward party leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit of any wrongdoing for his announcement, ahead of the March 24th general election, that he would transfer his assets into a blind trust.

Tourism chief to discuss lowering aviation fuel tax

Following a meeting of the joint committee from the Ministry of Transport on the development of Thailand’s transport network to promote tourism, Minister of Tourism and Sports Pipat Ratchakitprakarn said on Tuesday (October 22), that he is planning to discuss with the transport and finance ministries the possibility of lowering aviation fuel tax for domestic flights to help lessen the burden of airline operators who are currently paying the tax for their passengers.
