Netizens up in arms! Air cleaner become a trash can at Chatuchak Park!

Thai caption: Now it's become a trash can!

Sanook reported that a Twitter user had posted a picture of a sprinkler system that had become a receptacle for trash.

The machine was meant to be protecting the throngs at the park at the weekend from the effects of 2.5 PM pollution.

Instead it was jammed with plastic bottles and plastic bags.

Self-righteous netizens stormed onto social media to blame everyone else for this.

Oh, the irony.

Don't be too hard on them, they've never seen a trash can before but they are showing willingness to use one it it was available

I have seen those and had no idea what they were, just looked like some yellow barrels with small solar panels on top.  Didn't see any labeling.

Didn't put my trash on them though.

And now it's going to stay like that there for a few months, until somebody sells it for scrap, yes? Thai maintenance 101.

Indeed!! Perhaps if they used a brain cell they might understand the need for rubbish bins!!! Naaaahhhhh.

Amazing how dirty the air can get, looks like it's doing a superb job.

It's cleaning the environment of particles much bigger than the 2.5 design

Maybe they thought this was a far better use of the container than what it was actually designed for.

Water always seeks its own level.

Well done.

Faulty idea to begin with, but it is a trash culture in Thailand-no bins, most people litter, and trash is not an eyesore, it’s part of the landscaping.  When they cut the grass, they just move around the trash-refuse to pick it up-no pride

To use a brain cell one must first be in possession of a brain.

I opine that it is probably more suited as a garbage can than it was as an air cleaner!
