Father's rights.

My stepson ( Thai ) and his Thai wife seperated a few years ago. They have Two children under 10 years old.

His ex wife's mother lives in Sweden and she wants her daughter to bring the kids to Sweden and live there permanently.

The stepson loves his kids and spends all his spare time with them and treats them as a Father should.

He is petrified of never seeing his children again.

Is there a way he can put a stop on his children been taken away ?

The kids would be better off in Sweden.

But if they were really married (Amphur office as opposed to farcical village ceremony), the kids can't be taken out of Thailand without the fathers permission.

Also, if the parents were legally married when the children were born then both parents must authorise the children's Thai passports.

If the father doesn't attend the passport office then the children won't be going anywhere.

If, however, the parents were not legally married then the father has no rights to speak of. He would need to legitimise the children in Court to establish his rights.
