Hello. Checked the Forum But Couldn't find a relevant topic and satisfactory Answers for the issue I'm having now. I apologize If the thread is repeated...

I have NonB Until the end of December. My employer and I Had Some problems Last week. They terminated the contract (Still didn't give Me the cancelation form in written). Can i Just leave the city and move to Bangkok and look for a job? Will It Cause a trouble If i Just leave the City (Chonburi) and move to another place?

What should an employee having a NonB Do after a contract is terminated?

Do you have a non-immigrant B issued at a consulate outside Thailand, if that is the case nothing happens.

You can stay until your permission to stay ends. (your entry stamp)

If on the other hand have an extension of stay issued by immigration inside Thailand your permission to stay ends same day as your employment.

Yes ^^^, we need to know if you have an actual visa or an extension of stay.

I don't think that's the case, I was made to sign a "terms and conditions form" for all visa types which states:

The official has informed that the permission will be terminated as a result of the following cases:

3. change of employer status, termination of duty, expiration of work permit

You can get this form from immigration if you don't believe me.

So unless he gets another job within a few days, it's best to leave the country and get another type of visa. If not, he's going to be overstaying in the country.

Whether it is extension of stay or new visa, the terms and conditions are the same.

If you are a student, but is terminated by the school before the term ends, your visa is automatically terminated.

If you are an employee but is terminated by the employer before the terms ends, your visa is automatically terminated.

These terms and conditions are quite common in many countries.

The reason to stay in Thailand is important. You can't be staying in Thailand for other reasons than what is stated in the visa.

Applies to extensions not visas.

It states 'permission' that means permission to stay or extension of permission to stay for one year issued inside Thailand.

It really depends on your previous employer.

If they go to immigration to cancel your visa, then you're longer allowed to stay.

If they don't go to immigration, then immigration still thinks that you are still employed in that school even if you're not.

Ignore all those confusing extension versus new visa statements that the others said. Your existing visa is subjected to the same general conditions.

So it's better to find another job as soon as possible.

If your previous employer cancelled your visa and you overstay for more than 90 days and less than one year, you will be banned for 1 year from coming into Thailand.

If you are caught by police, then the penalty is even heavier.

So you're pushing your luck if you don't want to report to immigration and listen to some of the suggestions here that you can still stay despite being terminated.

If you leave voluntarily within 90 days, the most they can do is fine you a small penalty.

So in other words, you must find a job within 90 days from your termination date assuming your previous employer has informed immigration.

What about If i leave the country in 1-2 days and come back as a Tourist? Will the customs on the border ask for any documents from me when I'm coming back to Thailand? Like a contract termination paper from the employer ?

The school cannot cancel your visa because it is with you and I don't think they will bother trying anyway because they have other things to do and also because a non B will expire soon enough by itself. I wouldn't worry about it.

They won't ask for any documents because you're coming in as a tourist but whether they will let you in depends on the immigration officer.

Once you leave the country without a re-entry permit, the visa is automatically cancelled.

It's better that you go to immigration office and ask yourself or ask some friends to ask for you there rather than listening to all the 'advice' here which might be wrong.

Don't tell me you didn't make any friends here while you were working in Thailand?

To clear things completely can you post a photo of your visa. Delete name and pp number of course. Just cover them with a bit of paper before photographing.
