The family of a Thai man who escaped from the Pattaya court has begged him to give himself up to the authorities.

They believe if he doesn't he will be shot dead.

Sanook went to interview Wasada, 42, and Thonglor 63, the elder sister and mother of Noi or Tam, 41 at their house in Bang Bua Thong, Nonthaburi.

Their relative is the Thai man generally reported as being called Noi or Ton Nilthes who escaped along with a US man and a Thai woman.

A guard was stabbed and shot as the suspects, held on drugs charges, escaped in an Isuzu pick-up on Monday.

Sirinapha Wisetrit was captured 20 kilometers from the border with Cambodia in Sa Kaeo province yesterday.

Her husband Bart Allen Helmus remains on the run.

Wasada told Sanook that the family have been shocked by what happened and have not been in touch with their relative.

They said they visited him while he was being held and he said he could not face prison again.

She believed that if he did not give himself up he would be shot dead. She urged him to turn himself in and face a reduced sentence.

The mother said that she has two children and has sold everything except the house to support her son. She too feared for his safety and urged him to give up before he is killed.

I guess the woman wanted out or they decided to push her out because she is probably not facing attempted murder charges like her male companions.  They probably decided to take the slim odds of being to get to Cambodia and not being sent back from there against being shot by the police.  After shooting and stabbing a court policeman in the cells they will face all kinds of brutality from police and from prison warders and decades in prison, if rearrested and returned to prison. If still in Thailand they might have armed themselves a bit better by now.  The female commentator said they had a Thai pradit gun which is a home made break action handgun that shots single shots of 12 guage shotgun shells.
