This was the third extension of my five-year driving license. I arrived at the LTO at 10:30am.

I handed them my passport with a copy of the main page and the page showing my last extension.

I handed them my yellow book and a copy.

I handed them my driving license and a copy.

I handed them my pink card and a copy

They gave back to me my passport and my  Yellow Book along with a numbered ticket  and was out by 1045am after having been told to return at 1pm to do the tests and watch the film...

And YES my birthday was last Saturday...and YES I had to endure MrsJ driving....

Thanks for reporting. Sometimes things can go easy without extra hassle (even at the DLT).

Well it turned out not to be simple or straightforward after all.

Whatever you do DO NOT HAND YOUR PINK CARD to them.

First of all the form, agreeing your details, came back saying that I am THAI even though the pink card says NON THAI

Then the form came back saying that I am English so I correct that to British.

Then they print my card off with my name in THAI and I didn’t notice that they had changed from passport number to pink ID number.

Then I get a new card with my name in English but no passport number on and the Pink Card ID number on.

So I give up for today and tomorrow I will go back and ask them to sort it out correctly. I also note that on the back it has my full address written in Thai but only a partial address in English.

I will add that most of the people in the room with the Film, Surprise surprise were actually watching it

How unknowingly they are.

The pink card makes it exactly clear that you are NOT Thai of course

Thai bureaucrazy at it's best.

At my last DLT visit in 2017 they accepted the yellow book but seemed to ignore the pink card.
