30 day visa on arrival. How many entries?

Featured Replies

I apologise if this subject has already been dealt with in the past but despite a search I can't find the answer.

I am aware that you are only allowed a certain amount of visas on arrival in one year but my query is whether there is a limit of the amount of days that you can stay in Thailand or a limit to the amount of entries permitted.

For example I have visited Thailand twice this year, in April and November each time on a 30 day visa on arrival.

I have stayed a total  of 32 days on these 2 trips but am considering going back to Thailand in January for 2 weeks or alternatively on 9th April for 3 weeks.

My first date of entry into Thailand this year was 21st April and I left on 8th May. My second date of entry was 6th November and I left on 20th November.

Will I be allowed to return on a 30 day visa for whichever of these trips I decide on or have I already used whatever entitlement I have in which case when can I return on a 30 day visa on arrival?

Any assistance anyone can give on this point would be greatly appreciated.

I assume you mean a 30 day visa exempt entries since a visa on arrival is only for 15 days and is only available to those from a few countries.

There is not written limit on the number of visa exempt entries or the number of days you can stay on them over any amount of time.

At land border crossings they are limited to 2 per calendar year.

There will be no problem for you do the entries you plan on doing.

yes mate agree with Joe(the man knows Thai immigration better than anyone ive come across)

Your record reads like a true tourist, which is what the Visa Exempt is meant to permit (or other short term entry requirements).  Have a nice and safe trip. Come in January and maybe you will get some cooler weather (No guarantee on the cool).

Good info, thanks. As you seem to be quite knowledgeable on the subject of Thai visas I have a question. I will be in Hanoi Vietnam this January I would like to know if I can get a 60 day Thai tourist visa from the thai consulate there. I am Canadian. I've heard rumors that new types of Thai tourist visa will be available soon.

You can apply for a single entry tourist visa at the embassy in Hanoi.

It was proposed by TAT that a 2 entry tourist visa should be allowed again. That is big maybe at this time.
