Hotel group seeks rules on Airbnb

The Thai Hotels Association (THA) has requested a meeting with the Minister of Interior Gen Anuphong Phaochinda, on the impact of short-term rental and home sharing services, also commonly known as Airbnb, on domestic hotel business nationwide, said president Supawan Tanomkieatipume.

Boom on Bangla spooks tourists as overload sees power meters explode

PHUKET:-- The sound of a loud explosion unsettled tourists on Bangla Rd in Patong this afternoon (Dec 3) as a power overload saw several electricity meters short out and start a small fire in one of the bars on the busy street.

The Innovation Research and Development Centre under the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Co-operatives (BAAC), has forecast higher prices in December for agricultural products including unmilled rice, unmilled Jasmine rice, unmilled sticky rice, maize, rubber, cassava, oil palm, pig, and Vannamei white shrimp tend to be rise, while raw sugar prices may slide.

Gems, jewellery exports see a glittering 37.5% rise

The November 27th resolution of the National Hazardous Substances Committee (NHSC), to delay the ban on Paraquat and Chlorpyrifos for six months and allow controlled use of Glyphosate, is illegal, says Thammasat University vice rector Prinya Thaewanarumitkul in his Facebook post today (Tuesday).
