I'm having trouble resetting my IP and can't find my username for TOT. I have goldcyber and I remember it being my telephone number..@goldcyber or something like that.

Could somebody more organized than myself check their paperwork and tell me how the username/password is constructed??

Thank You!!!

Make sure your VPI and VCI are correct. Mine are VPI = 1 and VCI = 32. If these are wrong, even if your DSL shows connect and your username and passwork are correct, you still won't be able to access the internet.

This is the set up I was assigend for my DSL from TOT. The numbers represents the phone number assigned to your house phone.

USER NAME: 123456789@goldcyber

PASSWORD: 123456789

My DSL light is lit but the internet light is off. What is VPI and VCI and how do I check them?

Thanks

BTW

This is an existing connection that I've never had to use my password to access. I'm using XP and the reason I'm currently trying to reset my ISP is because windows could not repair my network connection.

I'm being prompted to enter my ID because I'm using the disk provided by TOT to initiate/repair my connection

If you haven't reset your Modem Router, the system should connect to the Internet because you're using the "Dialup Client" from TOT which came with the Modem on CD!

May you need to reset the Modem if you can't connect anyway!

The procedure is quite easy:

If you have the IP of the modem like: 192.168.1.1 just type this IP-address in the address bar of the IE, if a box shows up for username and password use as username: amin and password: tot. That should work!

Check under Advanced option (this may differs depend of Modem/Router) the settins for your account. User as your account name: [012345678]@goldcyber, while [012345678] is your phone nuber you use for the ADSL conecction an as password just your phone number alone without @...! The other settings you need to check/key in are: VPI=1 and VCI=32. Encapsulation need to set to: PPPoE LLC

In case you do not have the Modem IP, click on Start, than Run, keyin cm and press Enter, in upcoming screen (Command Prompt) type ipconfig /all and press enter. Now you should get the IP settings of the M<odem and your NIC (Network Interface Card). Use the IP of your Modem (Default Gateway) to connect to the Modem Interface.

Be sure of one more thing: the Subnet Mask must be correct in the Modem settings for 192.168.1.1 the Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0 an for 10.0.0.2 the S-Mask is 255.0.0.0 (if standard)!

If you're not able to connect to the net when all settings are set correctly, you maybe need to change the Modem Router.
