This is a poll to see how many members want to see a run off poll with the two top contestants.

If this is not done, all the people that have voted for the losing candidates will have WASTED their votes.

A RUNOFF gives people a chance to form COALITIONS.

A RUNOFF gives people a chance to vote for their SECOND CHOICE (relative to the last two choices).

It's much much more DEMOCRATIC and FAIR to have a RUNOFF.

 

In the past when the software allowed people to change their votes until the last minute, we had much more EXCITING POTY contests.

 

Because people could see the results and try to influence the final winning result IF they had initially voted for a poorly showing choice.

 

The ONLY WAY to replicate that excitement to at least some degree is a TWO PERSON FINAL RUNOFF.

 

It's so bloody obvious.

Never said that. 

I suggested starting the two person FINAL FINAL runoff during the last three days of the contest.

 

It could be the last day, the last two days, or some variation but I don't think leaving only one day would be fair.

I read it as 25.12 at 9:21 pm. Either way, too long. Should only take a couple of days for interested parties to register their preference, run off or no run off. Simple enough to then close the currently running poll and start a new poll with only 2 candidates or , if "No" just let the other poll continue to run.

That's very true.

They can be staged down.

Top 5 and then top 2 for example. 
In any case runoffs are the ONLY way to replicate (at least a little) the excitement of the past when people could change their votes on the fly.

Would have been the right way to do it at the beginning. However, tempus fugit, we'll have to make do with a head to head now.

Final runoffs have been done in past but not if I recall correctly usually limited to 2 people.

 

I note the vote in this poll is strongly against a 2 person run off.

 

And that the 4 front runners between them account for 70% of the vote. 

 

If we made it a 4 person run off then the 30% who'd need to vote for someone other than their initial choice would have 4 to choose from.  Much less limiting

 4 is still small enough to generate some sparks I think.

I prefer this way. More fun if more people. 

And not waste the vote.

Geronimo can be chance to win. Fair because he work so hard for this game. 

 

Just get it done and dusted, its gone on what seems forever now,

it's been milked enough, with 200,000 members there seems very

little interest in it,when most of the posts are been made by say 20

members.
