Hello

I will be re entering Thailand after 10.months out of the country. Previously l had a 5 year history of marriage extensions. But divorced now. I have never overstayed and have no issues with immigration. I will enter on a VISA exempt AU passport entry. I will have a ticket to Leave Thailand 6 weeks ahead. I will tell the IMO that l plan to extend at Chonburi until my flight to Australia. Purpose of visit to see ex wife. But l will be doing my retirement VISA with my agent.

I will have cash on me. This will be at Don Mueang. Do you forsee any issues please ?

After 10 months away I cannot see any reason you would have problems even at DMK.

But of course, TiT ????

When l.left the officer was asking me why you not make new visa. He saw no re entry permit because l.used to Leave every 6 months. My ex crying downstairs I was no mood for chit chat obviously. But l will be flying from the Philippines

Makes no difference where you fly from. If indeed you have been out of los for 10 months there is zero.. chance of being denied entry even at DM.

No need to use an agent.

Entering Thailand VisaExempt and then applying for a 90-day Non Imm O - retirement Visa at the IO of the place you want to stay long-term, followed by an application for a 1 year extension in the last month of that 90 days, is easy.

I have PM-ed you a comprehensive Roadmap with all details/options of how to do it.

Happy NewYear!

Just note that if your applying for conversion to non o inside Thailand you will need to demonstrate the funds in bank came from outside los. Not the case if you obtain non o outside of Thailand.

I was also married and now divorced, I never had a marriage visa as I work overseas, UK Passport.  I travel to Thailand every 3 months and have done for 10 years, visa exempt everytime, I've never been refused, been asked where I was staying and why, and told them come to see my son, now 7, and a holiday.  I always carry a copy of my divorce certificate and a copy of my sons birth certificate, which I'm named on, and now also a copy of my sons Thai ID with the same surname as me, never been asked for any of them.  I also always have my itenary, 20,000 bht, and my Thai bank book.  I'm always polite, and tell them in Thai that I have a Thai son and where his home is located, once I was asked " you speak thai?" my reply was in Thai, a little, as my son speaks English a little.  Only 2 ½ years to go before I retire there.

No problem with Thai passport control.

The flight ticket could be issue with airline. If required cheap onward flight book on the spot using your cell.

From the USA I had this once.  Was planning on being in the Kingdom for about 2 months and had the same plan as the OP.  ANA airlines would not let me on the plane until i showed a ticket onward in 30 days.  i booked a flight on air asia while standing at the gate, almost missed the plane.  Immigration didnt even ask a single question and waived me through with no evidence of leaving on time.
