Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

I have been over 4 hours trying to apply for a 60 day tourist visa, bloody nightmare!

As you are probably aware the rules have changed, you must now apply online, download lots of documents, photos etc. Has anyone else had problems, or is there an easier way, example, fly to Bangkok and apply for visa at airport or fly to bangkok, stay for 29 days and book a flight to Vietnam for a couple of nights, then fly back.

It seems ridiculous that when applying for a 60 day visa, they want you to disclose where you're going to stay in Thailand, hotel etc, need proof of flight booking, but why would you book a flight and hotel for 60 days if you're not going to be granted a visa!!

HELP WANTED PLEASE.

I've been getting 60 day Tourist Visas here in the US for years.   Yes, they want some documents that are annoying but not hard to get.  And as to where you are staying just name the hotel.  it isn't as if you have to stay there the entire time.

I have likely done this about 30 times over the years and had zero problems.  But the online part has me curious.  Here in the US you print out a bunch of the documents and mail them in.  Not do an online application.  I mean they need your physical passport to put the Visa in so I'm not clear on that part.  Perhaps telling where you are now and what the online means would help.

I assume you are in the UK. Others have had problems with e visa site.

Ongoing topic about it is here. https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1118112-my-guide-to-online-e-visa-applications-via-london-thai-embassy-60-day-setv-by-post/

An option is to apply for the visa at one of the honorary consulates in the UK. Make an appointment, go to the consulate and have your visa issued while you wait.

Contact info is here. http://www.thaiembassy.org/london/en/organize/81958-Royal-Thai-Consulates-in-the-UK-and-Ireland.html

Online? Since when do you have to apply for a tourist visa online? Have all embassies and consulates around the world have changed it to be online only?

Not all of them.

Only Beijing, Paris and London are using the online visa application site.

Taipei was going to start it but postponed it due to complaints about the ridiculous financial proof for a single entry tourist visa.
