I got my bank letter & statement the day before (worried about BKB nonsense). No need to update the book either, yesterday was good.

We had a bit of a situation at BKB the day before as I had no idea they had applied 'rules' and my minimum 400K only went back 3 months, but the teller decided to miscount, saying August, September, October, November. I then got up at 0500, made a transfer and drove the 30 minute round trip to update the book because that was the big issue last year. I asked the document checker about the passbook when he said come back tomorrow and he said don't worry. A few couples were turned away while we were waiting because of KR2 - luckily we got a new one last month. We actually spent less time there than usual, just over 2 mornings.

They either didn't have a copy at all, or the ones they had were too old. It was enough of an issue for the document checker to make an announcement about it. A few years back I asked her how long the KR2 was good for and she said about 5 years. Yes, once inside, she is happy to re-copy anything that isn't up to her exacting standards.....
November 20, 2025Nov 20 A friend did his Thai Family extension yesterday and his wife asked about KR2 age, to be told that they would have been happy with copies of the original.
