Pattaya video: Non-bill paying Russian taken to hospital after fight with bouncers

Police were called to Walking Street last night after two Russians created trouble in a bar refusing to pay a 2,000 baht bar tab, reported Ruk Siam News.

The Russians were taken to the cells at Pattaya police station after a fight with bouncers at Crazy Hot bar.

While there one of the men, Evgenii K., 34, complained to the master of the cells that he was suffering from an injury to his right ankle.

Sawang Boriboon medics were called and the Russian was taken to Pattaya Memorial hospital in a leg brace.

The media said he was given a cast and allowed to return to his room.

Pattaya police are investigating the incident.

A video on the Ruk Siam News site on Facebook showed Mr K. in the cells and being taken to hospital.

i guess the hospital bill will come by far pricier than the 2000 Baht bar bill . . .

  • Could have been a padded bil, something that the locals do often when they see someone who drank quite a few and figures he wouldn't notice...

So many Thai bouncers are looking for something like this every night, then they get to fight a drunk guy with multiple bouncers...

I understand they gotta pay their bill, possibly/probably padded.....but it's not an excuse for the typical beat downs that always seem to happen.

Happens often in most red light areas around the world.

Never heard of Crazy Hot bar, maybe in Simon complex or the other ones

"You are lucky. Usually they break both legs. Do you know any lottery numbers?"

They don't look particularly badly beat down. Not compared to some of the pulps that end up after fights here, even being beat up or beat to death by foreigners who then manage to evade justice.

Bouncers here have a hard job. Dealing with large amounts of non Thai speaking foreigners who frequent the girlie bars, often get drunk, don't always understand the rules and prices, and then become aggressive with a drink fueled superior attitude when they can't get their own way. This isn't the West where bouncers are mostly strictly regulated and policed. Here bouncers often are off duty police. There is a propensity for violence, quick tempers, egos, and pack mentality here that tourists probably won't understand.

2000 ThB isn't a vast amount of money. Yes, I know it's the principle if being fiddled. But 2k NOT 20 or 30.

2,000 bar bill for two of them.

They might be sent to a gulag upon return, for bringing shame and embarrassment to every Russian out there.

Are they real Russians then?

That's what happens if you play russian roulette...

Agree. 2000 baht bill for 2 Russians is an embarrassing to the nation. Vlad should deal with these 2 losers swiftly.

The Russian image is certainly getting a bashing!

I'm betting on newbies who didn't understand the ladydrink and/or ring-the-bell concept.  Doesn't excuse bouncers beating them up though, that's the police's job!  ????

This comment by Baerboxer explained the whole problem No Control by Local Authorities.

Nothing will change until Bouncers and their Employers are held criminally responsible for assaults and/or manslaughter of Tourists when they take the situation into their own hands instead of calling the Police first.

Seems to be the Russian visitors have been victim to a lot of harrassment(ie. thefts of jewellery, assaults, etc.) this last few months. You'd think there'd be some kind of backlash from that community, but I've seen nothing. Perhaps Ivan and the rest just drink away there sorrows, and grievances.

Wonder if he is related to the Russian shouting his head off in Big C Pattaya Klang today as he could not get a plastic bag

Much rather hear the Russian side of the story.

Bouncers not yet arrested? Bar closed up?

  • Popular Post

It's a shame most of the thais who do these beatdowns are too poor to travel outside Thailand.

If they did I predict there would be a campaign to give them a taste of their own medicine.

And it would be a resounding success.

  • Popular Post

Bouncers here are not trained professionals  on how to deescalate a situation...rather they are itching for any reason to get into a brawl...That is who they are...

rice farmers who migrate to the city to do any job above construction work...

fault lies with management...

Once a thai decides to cheat you, that money is already theirs in their mind. This is where the violence comes from. If you go to a bar, order a beer, pay for that beer. Otherwise, if you have multiple beers, the Thais will pad your bill 100% of the time.

You could order that one beer, and they can present you with a bill for two beers.  You are still in the same predicament.  You will pay, one way, or another.

Business go down, scams go up.

2,000 baht doesn't add up to much, even with a few drinks and a bit of padding I wouldn't have took a good hiding and end up in police cells for that much!

Is a place called Crazy Horse Russian Cabaret still open in Pattaya?

Rooster

I thought the Russians got free medical care while in Thailand, at least free emergency care.

I seem to remember after one of these regular beatings they dish out to foreigners that the authorities instructed the bars to not take matters into their own hands but to inform the police. Of course, as with absolutely any directive from officials in Thailand, no-one takes any notice whatsoever.
