up2you2 Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 I posted an enquiry about this previously, to which surprisingly nobody addressed the specific request at the time. What are the different merits of the various alternative materials that are used, in composing and making dental crowns in Thailand?
lopburi3 Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 Porcelain over metal is the normal crown. The cheapest would be non gold and then low to high grade gold. Gold is soft so a better fit is expected with the higher grade gold. But even the best crown over tooth/pin may not be cost effective for long term use if implant can be used - as at most you can not expect more than about a 10 year life (although many have crowns lasting much longer) before more decay starts below the crown.
