Photo: PPHO PHUKET: Health officials this week upgraded up their screenings of passengers arriving from Wuhan, China, in the hope of preventing a minor outbreak of a new form of pneumonia there from reaching the island. Wuhan arrivals have been screened for elevated body temperature since last Saturday (Jan 4), as fever remains one of the early indicators of infection. Other signs and symptoms include difficulty in breathing and chest radiographs showing invasive lesions of both lungs, notes the World Health Organization (WHO) in its description of the illness. This story is going to be hard to 'suppress' - the western media will eventually get the story about Chinese tourists spreading a new form of Sars like disease in Thailand.
