Thai TV reported on the case of a man in Sisaket in the north east of Thailand who won 6 million baht in the national lottery in May.

The man has squandered most of his money on a car, drugs and sex and now his own mother has reported him to the police after he trashed her house.

She hopes being in custody and perhaps doing jail time will cause him to turn over a new leaf.

Mum Kom Phokha said her son Chainarong "Ben" Phokha, 35, always did a few Ya Ba.

But after he won the lottery things took a turn for the worse.

He bought a car, spent loads of money on Ya Ba, girls at the karaoke and gambling. He had no job.

Locals started calling him "Sia Ben Khukhan" - Big shot Ben from Khukhan, the police jurisdiction where he is now being held.

She thought it best to put the remaining money in her name but she still handed out 100,000 baht every 20 days to her son.

The final straw was trashing her house in a drug induced rage, reported PPTV Channel 36.

She hopes all this will teach him a lesson - and help him to spend the money on life's necessities in the future.

Ah Thais know how to spend money  car, drugs, sex  and not alcohol. 100,000 a day though? Could have financially secured himself  rest of his life

If he'd been clever, he could have had 1 hooker and 10 beers per day, about 2000b? That would have lasted about 8 years, about his life expectancy.
