24 hour notice staying at a friends place

Featured Replies

Hi

I did post this in a reply to a question about this topic but no one replied so i will start a new one.

When i arrive in febuary i will be staying at a friends place in ubon ratchitani for a month so my question is...

I know we need to inform the government of where i am staying within  24 hours so could some one please tell me...

Where do i go , who do i see and what do i  need to take with me in ubon?

An address would be great because my friend who i  am staying with mentioned that where we need to go is nearly 2 hours from the airport which to me doesnt sound right?

I thought it would be immigration at ubon?

This person is the house owner and will be coming with me.

Thanks for any information

P.s...what is this 24 hour rule /law  actually called?

You did get a reply, three in fact  ...

I did a post in reply to your question about Ubon immigration.

"There is a office in Ubon city at Rajabhat university.

There is also of a office in Sirindhorn which would be the one about 2 hours away."

OP, Simple question. Do you need attend immigration for any other reason? Extension to visa exempt or tourist visa etc.

If your answer is no then do NOTHING.

Imm not interested in you staying at friends house or anywhere for that matter.

If your answer is yes then still do nothing till just prior to visit imm get any hotel to file you a tm30.

OP, You have only couple of posts to your name. You start another thread complaining no help. Where in fact ubon and others provided that advice.

Furthermore they responded quickly to your second thread.

Busy having dinner? No reply from you indicates zero interest in your own thread.

My simple rule of thumb.

Staying with a friend or relative on arrival on 30 day stamp or 60 day visa

If you have zero intension of getting an extension or anything else associated with Immigration.

Just go and stay and enjoy your trip.

Don't worry about reporting. They won't be bothered l.

You could start with telling how long your stay in Thailand is. No extensions at the local immigration office = no need for any TM30 report.
