Popular Post rooster59
Pattaya air quality: Get out there and jog says deputy mayor Image: Sophon Cable TV Pattaya's deputy mayor has said there is nothing to worry about regarding the air quality at Thailand's favorite seaside resort. Manote Nongyai advised the public to get out there, enjoy the weather and jog. He blamed surrounding areas not the city itself for PM 2.5 problems. Sophon Cable TV said there had been concerns through the week but that PM 2.5 readings at the central Pattaya intersection, a place where it should be high, were within safe limits from Monday to Friday. Right now it was just 27 micrograms. Sophon published conflicting pictures showing serious looking haze and clear skies. Popular Post ThreeEyedRaven
I shall do as the deputy mayor suggests and get out there for a jog, just as soon as I can find breathing apparatus light enough to carry when doing so. 1 1
Popular Post unamazedloso
These idiots need to be held accountable for there idiodic comments. Pity its almost imposible to sue this idiot if some one gets sick because they listened to him. Typical government dirtbags. All about sugar and sugar in fuel. Government is killing its people for kick backs. Im all for thailand to move forward which requires stupid big copra. I get it but the fires ARE NOT NEEDED EVER!! People need to question how much money the gov is getting from the increased production of sugarcane and processing for ethanol. There is a real push for this soil depriving, pollution causing, sugarcane from the gov. News story i read earlier verifying such with the want to be a ethanol only fuel supply in the future at a time when we should be going electric which also explains stupid taxes on electric vehicles. Seems the government werent real smart and the people are paying for it. 5 1

Popular Post Greenhill
Just further proof, if that were necessary, that money is the over-riding consideration in this country. NOTHING must be done to harm the image, in any way, of Pattaya or Thailand to negatively influence the gullible tourists that ANYTHING is amiss here!!! I haven't seen Khun Sontaya jogging or even walking along dust-filled Beach Road - the 'pride of the resort'!!!

Sydebolle
Seriously wondering what kind of good weed is smoked down at the city hall; these guys have lost their plot completely. But, as the saying goes, mysterious are the ways of the East and Pattaya is no exception to that. I - for one - do not believe in mystery, miracles or signs from further up hence the whole show is a stint for the mentally easier folks in town ........

mickey rat
No, the multinational Thai/Chinese just took a break from the burning to celebrate the Chinese new year. mikebell
Running makes you breathless and suck in air deep into your lungs. This air is heavily polluted with PM2.5. How can this be therapeutic? How can someone so dense be in an important job? How can anyone employ this brainless Burke?

BobinBKK
This is the latest and greatest government innovation to cleaning up the air. If we can get enough people to inhale repeatedly it will be like a giant vacuum cleaner to clean up the air!

samuttodd
Quote One has to ask, What would cause the air to be at a 200 plus count for 2.5 micron particulate for such long periods? In what world would that be expected or acceptable? It is not as though there is an active volcano in these affected areas. This is ridiculous. Nations and Societies/cultures have a choice to place value on clean air and clean water or not. Clearly, these places on the map have chosen where they place the value. It is unfortunate for the folks that live downwind or downstream, and some day, wars will be fought over clean air and water. Mark my words.
