'm against the death penalty in all circumstances.  Most civilised countries have rightly banned it.

I am also against it.  Vengeance is not up to the State or any individual.  Using capital punishment as a deterrent has benn debunked decades ago.

Anyone who kills in this manner  must be jailed forever. No parole.

A life in prison is still a life. He will eat, sleep, exercise, converse/socialise with the other inmates, see the sun rise and set every day. His victims have been robbed of all these pleasures,

Indeed, what has become of the world when a predominately expat forum is voting for the death penalty in a country where they are "guests" it has nothing whatsoever to do with us!

We are members of this forum and as such are entitled to express our opinion. Doesn’t have to have anything to do with us. We have no baring on the outcome.

Very unlikely...child murderers are not welcome in prison

Just let him with the general population, without any protection, and his life will rapidly become hellish...and won't last long anyway...

The death sentence is too nice for him. Get him in jail so he gets to think about what he did for the rest of his long miserable life.

if he goes to jail, I don't expect him to live that long, maybe 6 months at the most

He hasn't been convicted yet.  I'm betting on some point of law not being followed and the whole case being thrown out of court. May be fined for driving a scooter without a license being visible. TIT

Agreed.

Death penalty is barbaric, although in cases like this one, it would be probably better for the murderer himself.

And let people pay for him to live ? No, I think put into a room with the kids relatives and a few baseball bats.

Skinning knives might be more of a punishment, you think?

Thanks for the clarification, as I said - "sad world"

Perhaps yes. By firing squad would be fun.

I would volunteer for that and have absolutely no remorse.  I am a good shot also center of head no problem.

The fun would be not an instant death by firing squad. But yes, people like that makes it easier to put a bullet in him for justice. I would think it would also be sweet and sour justice for the families and friends.

Nope. Slowly eaten by ants would be more fun.

I'm with 77.01 % and he should die for what he's done.

No execution, 99years hard labour.

i'd volunteer as well.  heck, i'd buy a ticket.

sadly, i'm not such a good shot anymore and i often forget to bring my glasses.  might miss a few times, forget hitting center mass.  bet that'd be quite a thrill.

Thailand retains the death penalty, but carries it out only sporadically. Since 1935 Thailand has executed 326 persons, 319 by shooting (the last was executed on 11 December 2003) and seven by lethal injection (the latest was executed on 18 June 2018). As of March 2018, 510 persons remain on death row.

'510 persons' includes over 100 women.

I did not vote, but I have no problem with him being eliminated as is clear cut and dry he did it. No reason to let him live.

starting at his feet and slowly work up.

the mother should be able to confront the man

I’d choose the rot in jail penalty...

I think I read somewhere that 1 year in a Thai prison will be regarded as 10 years in Hell. Don't kill him - let him suffer. Dead people can't suffer anymore.

Please read my post #28.

Not only executed, but drawn and quartered. Or maybe the Brazen Bull would be better. Whatever the method, ensure it is long and painful. This murderer does not deserve mercy.

Far to easy, over in a second.

we should remember that the killer went out fully armed and determined to get his way with no consideration or concern for anyone.

He maliciously pulled the trigger not caring where the bullets went,

The people hit by them were not anywhere near him and did not obstruct him in his intention, they were the innocent victims of a callous uncaring killer.

In my view this person when found guilty with 100% surety should be placed in a steel room where guns will be fired not at him but around him until he is hit by a ricochet or multiples of them and killed, only then will he have the time to know the consequences of his actions, and no one will know who actually got him.

During that time he will have the chance to duck, a chance that his victims never had.

Life takers are bad people but child life takers are something different and require special treatment.

And before the do gooders jump down my throat for MY view, just remember that a life for a life is biblical, but you are a recent phenomenon, and not necessarily for the good

Is he capable of any rational thought as to what he has done, and anyway - what he thinks now and in the future is meaningless to anyone else. Should be treated the same as a rabid dog.

death  penalty for him far too sweet hell only

I just believe that justice should fit the crime. By having to look over his shoulder from the real threat of violence for the rest of his life and living in squalid conditions would be more fitting in my opinion than giving him an easy way out.

I presume everyone clicking yes is in favour of the two Burmese lads from the koh tao horror crime also get the treatment. Or does everyone get the choice of which prosecutions to believe or not?

Slightly different story here, seeing as how the 2 Burmese guys are the fall guys for the koh tao mafia.

I'd be inclined to agree, if not for the fact that people gets short jail sentences or even pardoned for heinous crimes in this country.
