ItsDave Posted January 27, 2020 Share Posted January 27, 2020 Here's my situation, I entered Thailand on a SETV obtained in Australia in October 2018, left and applied for another in December in HCMC Vietnam. While I was here on that second tourist visa I obtained an ED Visa (went to Vientiane to get that one). That runs out soon (I extended it to the full 12 months), and I'm planning to head to HCMC to apply for another SETV after a few days in Japan. Does the Thai Visa brains trust foresee any issues? If it helps at all (which it may not) I will be applying in HCMC with a fresh Australian Passport (I've just renewed it and it will likely only have a single exit stamp from Thailand). DrJack54 Posted January 27, 2020 Share Posted January 27, 2020 My opinion is that at Saigon you will have passport returned with Void stamp.. Esp after Ed visa. I think you will struggle to get another setv. Also as you know you can't obtain one in Japan unless your pp holder. Your best option from Japan would be to fly KL and use visa exempt entry at border. Or similar other route. Others may advise differently. Yes that will allow you to obtain SETV at Saigon. However you still need to fly into Thailand. Your history is on passport control airports unlike Thai consulates. I suggest if you fly into Bangkok airports it would be problematic. Especially previously having an Ed visa. If denied entry world of pain fly back to Saigon.
