Greta Thunberg seeks to trademark her name to stem misuse

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - Teen climate activist Greta Thunberg said on Instagram on Wednesday she has applied to register her name and that of the Fridays For Future movement she founded in 2018, which has gone global and catapulted her to international fame.

 

The move would allow legal action against persons or companies trying to use her name or the movement's which are not in line with its values, she said.

 

"I assure you, I and the other school strikers have absolutely no interests in trademarks. But unfortunately it needs to be done," she said on the social network.

 

Thunberg said she had also applied to trademark "Skolstrejk for klimatet", school strike for the climate in Swedish - the wording on the placard she has held since she started her one-person protest outside the Swedish parliament in 2018, for whih she missed school.

 

"My name and the #FridaysForFuture movement are constantly being used for commercial purposes without any consent whatsoever. It happens for instance in marketing, selling of products and people collecting money in my and the movement's name," she wrote on her Instagram account.

 

Thunberg, who took center stage at the Global Economic Forum in Davos this month, and her fellow young activists in the movement want politicians to listen to climate scientists and take action to curb global warming.

And millions of children only want to know where their next meal is coming from; or clean water supply.

 

And many young people who have made positive contributions to climate change through innovative ideas are all but ignored by the media.

 

A girl with autism being ruthlessly exploited by her ambitious parents, and somewhat cruelly given her condition, and by sections of the media for their own agendas.

 

Quite frankly, apart from skiving off school, being rude to older people, and repeating headline mantras like a parrot, what does she actually add?

She speaks with the unfiltered obsessive attention of someone with autism. 

 

That also accounts for her lack of basic communication skills. Someone, mummy and daddy perhaps, have been programming these ideas into her. She will then focus totally on them, which is indicative of her condition. 

 

She actually cannot offer any solutions, any ideas, or any original thoughts. Simply thinks "this is wrong, I must complain".

It would appear that "Global Warming" is now not in vogue, callously replaced by "Climate Change" ! Of course the climate has to change, every day and from morning to evening. The chance of climate remaining the same are 1 divided by infinity, which just so happens to equal zero ???? Thanks to natural disasters and occurrences beyond our control, things may warm up a little, but an ice age is coming, to be sure to be sure to be sure !

She goes to countries that already espouse her value and have the same idea on how to fight climate change - even the USA has closed 50 coal plants under Trump, yet China continues to open more coal plants, never closes down plants it states that it has closed down, and supposedly because of the large amount of pollution from China, it makes the work that western countries do, null-in-void, so I'm confused how she is so great, other than she is very good at whining/complaining and starting more doomsday wars
