Anybody experience with re-entry permit not canceled at border? Can I use it again?

After all these decades in Thailand it happened for the first time, came into Thailand using a single re-entry permit and it was not canceled by the airport immigration officer..... can I use it again?

Thanks

Your departure and reentry stamp will show it has been used. All I can think is io made mistake?

I wouldn't exit without obtaining new reentry permit.

A Single-entry Re-Entry Permit only costs 1.000 THB.  Imo it's not worth risking your remaining permission to stay and possibly having to go through the hassle of applying for a new Visa, for such a small amount.  So better buy a new one when needed and consider the 'non-used' one as void.

That happened to me last year.  I thought about it for about 10 seconds and decided it was a bad idea.    I'm sure it's in the system somewhere and I'm not a gambling man.

Yes "it's in the system somewhere..."

More simply it's in the passport.

The reentry permit has an issue date and an "until" date. Also an exit and enter stamp. Nearly always side by side. Clearly indicating the single entry reentry has been USED.

No exit and no entry stamp next to the reentry permit. The reentry permit looks virgin and the date of validity is up to the end of my visa extension which is many more months. The exit and entry stamps do not specify which re-entry permit has been used..... ???? So the question is if the Immigration has some record on their computer which specific re-entry permit has been used to come back to Thailand or not.....

Say what! When you next re-enter on your arrival card where it asks for "visa #" you will write your reentry permit number.

That alerts the io to look in pp for reentry permit. The permit has issue date and until date. They should also check its single or multi. Then they will return to page to give you stamp. Almost certainly notice your other exit and reentry.

The mistake by previous io will be noticed.

At best you will be stamped in visa exempt.

This thread is about what exactly? Trying to get another reentry because io made a mistake. Its 1000baht.

But they would fit within the validity period of the existing re-entry permit. If you entered the country after the date the re-entry permit was issued it would evident that the re-entry permit had been used.

Also your entry stamp would have non-re for visa class on it.

There is a pretty good chance, if you have an alert immigration official, that the re-entry permit will be marked used when you exit. I have had similar experiences with single entry visas only marked used on exit. You would be crazy to rely on an old re-entry permit to save 1,000 baht plus some space in your passport.

Enter I hope!

It should have happened when he entered, but the immigration official failed to do so. I have had this happen before with single entry visas. Minor errors by immigration officials later cleaned up by their colleagues is not rare.
