Read in financial pages that United Airlines is considering emerging from bankruptcy months ahead of schedule.... and I do not wonder...

Last week I flew UAL Seattle to Los Angeles - First Class.. a fare of 537.00 USD for about a 2 hour flight.. I could not even get a cup of coffee.. only refreshments was canned drinks.

In contrast I made the return trip (actually a little further, to Vancouver) on Air Canada Economy 362.12 USD and enjoyed a hot meal... :o

Last time I flew with an Americian carrier was Pan Am- Miami to LAX..not very impressed,however a small outfit from San.F > Lax not too bad ..think it was called Cal-air (or Air Cal)or something like that.

It was the first time(1980-1) I was ever offered cash up front($100),plus the next flight /free food/drink etc to give up my seat due to over capacity.So theres good and theres bad... ::o:
