Sinn Fein demands place in Irish government after electoral 'revolution'

So you support those for a unified Ireland. I hope you will the same for those in Issan or you are just being selective.

Ideally, a unified Ireland sounds great. Pragmatically, not so much. If I was a ROI politician, taking over sovereignty over the north wouldn’t be worth it. I’d happily leave that for the British to deal with! Its their mess anyway. In 100 years after the demographics have changed, ask me again.

As for Isaan, who knows! I’ve always been a proponent of having a more devolved government in Thailand based on the major regions (North, North East, Central, and Southern Thailand) given the complexities of the country. If they wanted to hive off and join Laos, then good on them I guess. I can’t think of many reasons they’d want to do that, not that the central Thai focused government cares for them much unless it is around election time. So a Newin NE private fiefdom? Who knows, could be on the cards!

views on SF by opponents hiding behind paywalls ain't no good guidance of what is where in the political spectrum

checked up the semantics of far right and looked, couldna spot SF

A reference was asked for so I gave it. I posted an article yesterday and pasted all the article because it had a paywall and it got removed. apparently against the rules. Only the article and a couple of sentences allowed.

Put your money in your pocket and pay up. Or use the internet and do your own research. It takes less than a minute.

The clue is in the first two letters.

SF’s strategy shares traits with that of Europe’s far-right parties

The only people who seem to think I have a hatred for the UK are thin skinned brexiters who wouldn’t know their WTOs from their FTAs and who interpret any injection of mildly intelligent comment or critique as an assault on their British, sorry, Englishness.

From someone who struggles differentiating between a Vexillogist & Keith Harris ????

Is this your argument LG, to accuse those you disagree with of hating the UK?

And of course your customary resort to discussing their nationality, real or imagined.

I'll show mine if you'll show yours now that you happen to mention it...?

And the DUP is a front for loyalist terrorists. What is your point?

That the young don't remember the Troubles is a good thing because it means that those dark days are behind us. The IRA was created by those who experienced first hand the treatment of Ireland and the Irish by the British.

The current youth are the future of Ireland - better they view the world with aspirations of unbound greatness rather than being burdened by the sins of their and our fathers.

Ah, our resident anti British Scottish Republican sympathizing with the murdering terrorists and crime gang, the Provisional IRA.

Guess you have no issue with the youth of Germany supporting far left national socialists or far right fascists then? Of course you do; because it would only be extremists that share your political views that are o k.

The IRA that fought for Irish independence; and fought a civil war with the Irish Free State, were a very different organization to the drug dealing PLO loving Provosional IRA financed by crime, extortion and by foreign enemies of the UK.

Do you realize the irony in your last sentence. You don't want the Irish youth to be burdened by the sins of their fathers; whilst you want the UK to be burned by theirs.

And again, childish discussion of a member’s real or imagined nationality.

Not when it's been openly admitted some time ago with no offence intended or taken at the time.

I find myself once again reminding you, TVF is not a dating site.

I’m sure there are other forums where you can find the kind of ‘sharing’ you are seeking, I’m pleased to inform you TVF is not one of them.

I hope you are not too disappointed.

I'll take that as a 'No' but thanks all the same for bringing it up. I shudder to think what might have happened had it been me...

Democracy you Dutch wouldn't know it if it bites you on the bottom. Laugh and clap about that. Again I not against Sinn Fein winning but your ignorance of who they were and are is astounding as your constant anti UK rhetoric.

There is more chance of Germany invading Holland again then Ireland unified. Obviously you are way out of touch with loyalists in Northern Ireland..

Yes, along with the Corsican, Kurds, Catalans, Basques. Only they are people without a state of their own.

The Irish Unionist majority in NI don't want to be in another country.

The only chips you’ll find with me are the hot crispy ones I’m downing with my beers as I watch the slow motion train wreck!
