Hello. My work permit and non-b will expire on 29 february. I’ve been on a non-b visa for 3 years. Before my non-b I was on a tourist visa(single entry tourist visa) for 1 year. So first 1 year with single entry tourist visa and last 3 year with non-b.

I’d like to ask some questions about tourist visa.

1)I’m Turkish citizenship. I’m thinking about apply new tourist visa from Savannakhet, Laos. Am I need to make visa for Laos in Khon Kaen or visa arrival at Savannakhet border?

2)Am I need to online appointment for Thai consulate in Savannakhet?

3)As I remember 3 years ago tourist visa it was 1,000 Baht. Still same and am I have to pay with Thai Baht?

4)What kind of documents am I have to show? 20,000 Baht in bank statement, flight ticket after 60 days. What else?

Thanks in advance.

1. As far as I know Turkish citizens can now get a visa on arrival for a fee of $35 . You can also apply for the visa online now for a additional fee of  $15. See: https://laoevisa.gov.la/index

2. No

3. Still a fee of 1000 baht. They only accept baht for the fee.

4. You will need to show the equivalent of 20k baht in a bank.

Thanks! I guess I’ll go Laos and Turkish embassy in Bangkok ask about Laos visa. Just in case. Because visa arrival new for us. Some of Turks still keep saying that we need visa etc.

One more question. If I not cancel my non-b(90 days) and work permit just leave Thailand. It is ok?

Are you a 90 day entry from a non-b now or a extension of stay based upon working. If on a extension of stay you will need to show a termination letter to leave the country after Mukdahan cancels it.

My work permit is 1 year but for the non-b every 90 days I apply new non-b.

Bangkok immigration not extend my non-b because of I lost original degree. I have only copy. So within 3 years every 3 months apply new non-b.

Immigration does not care about the work permit cancelation when leaving the country. You will not have a problem leaving the country.

So if someone has work permit and non-b(extension of stay) before leave Thailand have to cancel extension of stay. Work permit no need.

So my non-b is just 90 days. I don’t need to worry about anything then. Am I right?

The consulate in Savannakhet probably won't give you a tourist visa if you're coming straight from Thailand and have spent more than 90 days in Thailand within the last six months. It doesn't seem to matter what kind of visa / extension you used before. Best to check with them or with a visa run company that goes there before your trip.

Why not? I’ll apply tourist visa after 3 years again. Within 3 years no tourist visa.

Because they assume that you work in Thailand.

It's their policy. They only issue tourist visas to people who've spent less than 90 days in Thailand within the last six months.
