Popular Post snoop1130
PM, ministers visit Korat’s wounded, attend funerals By The Nation Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and other Cabinet members on Wednesday (February 12) visited some of the people injured in Saturday’s mass shooting in Nakhon Ratchasima. Suporn Atthawong, vice minister of the Prime Minister’s Office, said the officials made the rounds at Fort Suranaree Hospital, Bangkok Hospital Ratchasima and Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital, offering condolences and best wishes for speedy recovery. Thirty people were killed in and around the Terminal 21 shopping mall in the northeastern province’s capital and scores were wounded by a troubled Army sergeant-major carrying an assault rifle. Police shot him dead on Sunday morning. Suporn said the premier and ministers also attended funerals at Wat Pho, Wat Sutthachinda Worawihan and Wat Samakkhi. “The prime minister urged ministers and other government authorities to take care of the relatives of the dead and restore the morale of people nationwide as soon as possible,” he said. Korat citizens in turn expressed their appreciation to the prime minister and others for bringing them care and comfort, Suporn said. Thaiwrath
Netizens have criticised Prayut for “failing to show enough deep sympathy for the victims”. Some said he acted more like a politician running a political campaign than one feeling sympathy and sharing sadness with the families of those who passed away or were injured. (After his Sunday press conference) After that episode in his Sunday press conference, I am sure he felt obliged to make more of an effort this time.
