Accident on Jomtien Beach Road

A speeding pickup truck collided with another truck on Jomtien Beach Road resulting in an accident.

On 4th April the Dongtan police were informed of this accident, so quickly radioed the Sawang Rescue Team to ask for assistance to take the injured to the hospital before going to the scene.

At the scene the team found the damaged Isuzu and Mitsubishi pickups parked beside the road. Witnesses stated that the driver of the speeding Mitsubishi took his wife on a motorbike taxi to the hospital since she bounced out of the truck and was seriously injured in the collision. The witnesses also stated that both husband and wife seemed drunk.

The owner of the Isuzu truck was waiting for the police. He said that he works at a restaurant not far from the scene and parks his truck here every day while he works. When he heard the loud crash he ran out to find that it was his truck that was hit.

In the meantime, their truck was seized and the police are waiting for the couple to give their statements after they return from the hospital.
