webfact
60 percent coronavirus patients in Thailand have already made a full recovery FILE PHOTO: A health worker uses an infrared thermometer to check the temperature of a tourist who arrives at Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport, Thailand, January 25, 2020. REUTERS/Panumas Sanguanwong As other countries deal with new outbreaks of the coronavirus, 60 percent of those who were found to have the virus in Thailand have already made a full recovery. According to official figures released by the Ministry of Public Health on Sunday (23 Feb) Thailand has a total of 35 confirmed cases of coronavirus. From the 35 confirmed cases, 21 patients have made a full recovery and have been discharged. 14 patients remain in hospital. Meanwhile, out of 1,355 cases regarded as ‘patients under investigation’ (PUI), 1,071 of those have recovered and been discharged, while 284 have been admitted. ‘Patients under investigation’ are those that have perhaps shown a high temperature during screening or who have contacted a healthcare facility in Thailand to report flu-like symptoms. They are not people with confirmed coronavirus cases are instead being monitored as a precautionary measure. The large number of PUI is due to Thailand stepping up its screen process at places such as airports, officials have said previously. There have been zero deaths from coronavirus in Thailand. The news comes as Thailand’s Education Minister Nataphol Teepsuwan on Sunday asked teachers, students and parents who have recently travelled to China, Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore to self quarantine at home for a period of 14 days. Over the weekend Japan and South Korea reported a spike in coronavirus cases, with the latter confirming 763 cases and six deaths in a matter of days. The coronavirus infections in South Korea centre around the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, a secretive religious sect with a strong presence in Daegu, the epicentre of the outbreak in the country. Also over the weekend saw a spike in cases in Europe, particularly in Italy, with the country announcing 152 caes, many in the densely populated region around Milan. The spike in cases resulted in officials cancelling several top-flight football matches, while the Venice Carnival had also been cancelled as the country implemented a strict lockdown. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2020-02-24 Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking Thailand news and visa info
Popular Post DrTuner
Admitted PUI 284. Probably closer to the real number, although still low. All you need to do is let only one lab confirm it and refrain from testing further in the other WHO reference lab (two must confirm to make it official) and hey presto, no confirmations. JohnnyBKK
In China they have only 20% of cases requiring hospitalization. But in Thailand almost all the cases needed hospitalization. Isn't it weird ?
Pedrogaz
Does that mean that 40% haven't made a full recovery. Of this 40% how many are going to recover completely?
simtemple
Of those hospitalized in Wuhan 50% have died. Two have died in Italy. Five have died in Iran & one has died in Manila. In the land of smiling liars nobody dies.

gk10002000
And I am sure most that had it will recover given the mortality statistics I have seen. In addition I am sure thousands upon thousands of people are or have been infected by the virus but were not aware of it.
