Additional documents for 12 month non-o extension

Featured Replies

The last time we extended my 12 month non-o was extension based on marriage we got snagged on some additional paperwork that my landlord needed to provide This took some time as he lives in a different province.

This year we called in to Hat Yai immigration to get all the forms and they gave us a checklist alongside a form that my landlord needs to complete, he completed this today,

He provided us with a copy of the house book, which my wife isn’t mentioned in (he refuses to put my wife on the book, this is acceptable to immigration).

Thanks to a poster in the Thai language forum I have this translation which I also read.

The person renting and the owner of the property will be the two parties to the rental agreement. The renter is identified by a copy of their ID card. The owner Is identified by his house registration or , if he is not Thai , by his passport.”

Last year HY immigration accepted a copy of the landlords ID card, the copy of the blank first page, a copy of the final page of the house book, which has his signature.

Both my wife and landlord are confused, do they now want to see a copy of his housebook from the neighbouring province? or a copy of the housebook for the property he owns here and that we rent? If so, he needs to plan ahead and get a copy sent to us in the next two weeks.

He is a bit of a useless landlord but accommodating to a point but he has said that he doesn’t see what his personal life has to do with my visa application, and he has a point.

Don't dump on your landlord.  Immigration's flowing stream of ever-changing visa requirements sets you up for angst most ever year.

Wait until you see what is in store for next year!  ????

I didn’t think I had.

I was asking what house book do immigration require as mentioned here. The translations above.

i don’t get your point.

You need a rental agreement, a copy of owner's house book for where you are living and their ID card. If he is not shown as the head of household in the house book immigration may require a copy of the chanote for the house to prove he owns it.

Thank Joe! We were all sure that this was the case but the wording of this checklist confused everyone.

Last year they didn't need a copy of the Chanote, they were happy with a copy of the first and last page from the blank house book. It should be plain sailing this year.
