Looking for a good hospital around Chaiyaphum area? Petchabun or Korat should cover my area, and I mean the best hospital. I heard the army hospitals also are available for expats, so please add them to the list as well.

Im at the moment using Bangkok hospital in Bangkok, but hoped to find a closer option now when I have moved to Chaiyaphum.

Agreed. The government hospital in Korat is a regional level facility and pretty good. A few of the doctors there can also be seen at Bangkok Korat hospital but by no means all.

There is an excellent university hospital in Khon Kaen, Srinagagarind and this is the best facility in the northeast.  A few of their doctors also work at Bangkok Hospital Khon Kaen but again, only a few.

Being government hospitals, Korat and Srinagarind Hosps will be a big change from Bangkok Hospital in Bankgkok.Little or no English speaking except by the doctors, crowded, no amenitities, long waits. They do have after hours clinics and this is strongly recommended not only because the waits will be less (but still noticeable) but because you can directly consult the senior doctors as you will otherwise have to run a gauntlet of medical students, interns and residents and might nto even see the "real" doctors or if you do, only for a few seconds.

Fort Suranaree Hospital in Korat.

The medical standard is higher at Sinakarin Hospital in Khon Kaen, the best hospital in the NE as Sheryl stated,  but if you are used to Bangkok Hospital you probably won't be very happy there. Try it.

Alternative is Bangkok Hospital Korat.
