Siam Rath reported that they caught one taxi driver touting for business at the weekend inside the airport. CCTV showed Chatchai, 34, leading two tourists out to his private car. The tourists were advised to use the rank for their own safety. Chatchai was charged with trespass in the airport. Picture: Siam Rath Airport deputy chief Kittipong Kittkhajorn said that he had received reports of overcharging, passengers being abandoned and having to change cabs mid journey. Is that the normal one week clampdown, or is it serious and might be two weeks? 35 minutes ago, webfact said: They are doing this by charging anyone caught with trespass that means they could face 5 years in jail or a 100, 000 baht fine or both. 'could', not 'will'. Selective enforcement. 3

Wiggy
That's a bit harsh; in Phuket you can kill a motorcyclist and keep your license without even getting a crease in your trousers. 1

Prince77
Charge the people who use them, too in addition. Personally I do not understand why people use taxis a departure level just to save 50 Baht? At arrival level you get a registered taxi with the name and details of the driver, so it is very safe and convenient in case you forgot something on that taxi.
