EC pushing for more charges against Thanathorn

Maybe it's a theater... The EC will find him not guilty on these new charges and this gives Future forward supporters / student protesters a "win" and shows that the EC is fair and unbiased.

Meanwhile the 10 year ban is still upheld and seems more legitimate afterwards as the EC has now been proven to be unbiased and not corrupt.

Don't hold your breath, these goons, which are military appointed will find every single way to bully Thanathorn at any given time and opportunity.....

Yes, very true. Given that there was a turnout of some 38 million then it is nearer 15% - which reinforces your point.

They must really fear Thanathorn and the young vote he has garnered. Revolutions usually come from that age bracket.

The pro-military "establishment" want this anti-military man "out of their hair" so locking him up for a maximum 10 years will do nicely for them!!

I don't think it will "do nicely for them" at all. Locking Thanathorn up will fuel the protesters and enhance their feeling of political repression. Further, they will create condemnation on much of the world stage.

Xi will approve but many others will not.

Actually almost 20% of the voters supported his party.

They want him to run, but I don't think he will - so the move becomes very dangerous for the establishment if he chooses to stay and fight and martyr himself.

They managed to force the last two electoral threats to their hegemony to run. Thaksin I suspect because he knew that once he was incarcerated he would not emerge alive, and Yingluck, as well as the threat of imprisonment, because they effectively held her teenage son. Thanathorn has rather cleverly established close links with foreign embassies and their governments, which makes it much more difficult for them to move against him.

Take the win and leave it be.

Any further actions by the EC only benefit their foes

Could they really be this stupid?

In a word, yes, they can be that stupid.

They don't seen to understand the damage to Thailand that they have already caused.

And coups come from the older military age bracket.

Then the army chief "Not to be named" will come out of the barracks with DRASTIC measures, and he couldn't give a ******* about what the world will be thinking.....
