Electricity outage to hit Pa Khlok

PHUKET: The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has announced that the electricity supply will be temporarily shut off in parts of Pa Khlok next Wednesday (Mar 11) as work is carried out on installing new high-voltage cables.

South Korea to assist Thailand on returning illegal labourers

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Bhutan said on Friday it had banned the entry of tourists for two weeks after it confirmed its first case of the coronavirus, in a tourist who arrived form neighbouring India.

BOT to issue new Bt500 banknotes to lessen risk of Covid-19 infection

The Bank of Thailand (BOT) on Thursday (March 5) issued a statement urging financial institutes to use new Bt500 bills instead of existing Bt1,000 bills as a measure to lessen the risk of Covid-19 infection, saying that some of banknotes might be contaminated.

PHUKET: More than 2,000 passengers and crew on board the Costa Fortuna cruise liner that arrived in Patong Bay this morning (Mar 6) have been refused permission to come ashore. The ban follows officials confirming that 64 Italians on board left Italy in the past 14 days.

PHUKET: Phuket Bike Week 2020 has been postponed due to fears of the COVID-19 coronavirus spreading. The annual event was expected to see more than 5,000 vehicles and 50,000 participants arrive in Phuket for the event, generating a projected revenue of at least B500 million for the island.
