Especially since the maximum is 96% when in contact with air. It would also evaporate too quickly to be effective.

The label reads: 99.9%  Alcohol sanitising spray. ethyl alcohol, sanitising spray, antiviral activity, antimicrobial, RSV / H1 N1 / Sars / 2 others written in Thai. Done by N Lifeguard.

It was interesting to see how the different countries are taking different approaches to tackling this virus.

In Korea they are doing mass testing to try and catch the virus at an early stage. I read the other day that a Covid-19 test in Thailand can cost up to 13,000 Baht, so some people avoid being tested. Wouldn't it be a good idea for the government to give a large budget to the health authorities and make testing free for everyone?

That would not only be an act of benevolence, but it would show that they actually cared about the masses. The lives, well being, and safety of the masses are only a consideration, as far as how it might impact the image of the nation, and the fortune the army makes off of tourism. It ends there. South Korea has a real, and competent government.

1. Too much use of alcohol and/or soap is funest for my skin. Will only do when needed.

2. A very loud *Hatsjoom!* mostly goes straight to the floor and is more due to the dust in the air.

3. They should stay home!

4. Not sure what this had to to with the corona, but I love my meat done and egg sunny side up -unfinished-

5. I am not going try to get mask for all the animals that land on my porch.

They try to be funny, but masks are for people under number 2 and 3.

I should go and do my 90 day reporting on the 16th . But the immigration Van is not coming to Khao Lak anymore . So I will need to go to Phang Nga , which is about 300km way and back .

I tried to do it online , but it did not work ( surprise surprise ) ... So I phoned them to ask if I can do it by registered mail , but they say too late for this already ... I asked if I can authorize a person to do it for me , they said NO , I have to come myself to the immigration office .

I said , I cannot do this as I am sick , cough and fever , may be the virus ... They said , does not matter , I have to come personally to the office ... I said , I do not want to infect nobody ... they said , come in person or pay the 2000 baht fine !

I will pay , I am not going there .

Lovely Thailand , always the money first ...

I shouldn't be surprised at this.. and I'm not

Probably say kill 99.9% of "germs". 99.9% alcool can't exist because it absorbs water from the air.

it is a waste of time indeed . you can't protect yourself from this virus.

it is all nonsense of the WHO and idiot doctors who think that the

world is their laboratory.

you can sanitise busses and streets, you can't wipe out subway railings and

hope it will "kill the virus". those are mostly useless desperate acts.

this virus will spread around until it disapears. no mask and no quarantine will help.

If I was a doctor I would refuse to waste my time treating people who thought that after so much study I was still an idiot.

Get a mirror mate.

that doesn't make sense, 99.9% alcohol spray?

It's otherwise known as absolute alcohol, and its use is confined to specialist laboratories doing sophisticated chemical synthesis. It certainly would not be available in a hardware store.

Alcohol normally forms an azeotrope of 95% ethanol and 5% water. Industrial ethanol will always be these relative proportions, as the ratio cannot be changed by distillation.

70% ethanol is sufficient to kill germs and viruses. Why make it higher than that, when you can sell 30% water?

Another bizarre story. If the man from Hong Kong left the country already then how do we know he is the one who infected them?

Because he is. not Thai.

Thai people do not do such things as infect others.

The now infected western countries all had plenty of time, to learn from China, how to take the correct measures against the virus. But nobody wanted to learn anything from China. That is why the virus is now spreading rapidly in Europe and USA.

Not true.

It's because China did not share the crucial information for 3 weeks back in December!

They shared a "cigarette" huh ? I'm guessing it was one of those "Jazz Cigarettes" as Paul McCartney liked to diplomatically call a "joint".

They also had "freelancing prostitutes" who- following the report- made some extra money in their free time.

Let's assume they had some sandwiches, please do the math how many people will be infected.

And the "office workers, the ladies of the night" will continue having sex for money.

Of course do they have to call them office ladies if prostitution isn't allowed.

You better not believe the Thai news. They're liars and never even know the truth.

It was a drug party that went terribly wrong, nothing else. Smoking cigarettes together?

A bit like Bill Clinton who never inhaled pot. Innit?

Countries that are on top of this are testing more people daily than Thailand has done from the very beginning.

Completely ignoring the advice from WHO and following the examples from other countries, will come back and hit Thailand hard. Already over 2.000 people admitted at hospital and waiting for the test results. Horrible handling of this.

Older flu viruses do not spread well with temperatures around 30 C, probably the same for Corona. I think that is why we are not seeing an epidemic in Thailand.

I'd possibly buy that if Thailand had sufficient testing going on

South Korean politics has been riddled with corruption for decades; based on looking after the country's "elites", rather like Thailand. How else did a film like Parasites get made and resonate so much in South Korea, never mind anywhere else?

The optimum temperature for Corona is 8C/46 F. This is very bad for northern countries and then soon to southern countries like southern Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina. Bad for mountain people worldwide.

From your link. You're not listening to the experts:

The virus that causes Covid-19 may have a temperature sweet spot at which it spreads fastest, a new study has suggested, but experts say people should avoid falling into the trap of thinking it will react to seasonal changes in exactly the same way as other pathogens, like those that cause the common cold or influenza.

Or just cherry picking

Thailand should be another Italy or worse by now. Tens of times more Chinese tourists, well into February. Nothing like that happening. One Chinese venue is 100 meters from me, now empty but used to have 20-25 busses per night but nobody is sick around here.

You have made a false statement when you said that no spray is going to help. 99.9% alcohol spray will kill any virus or germs on your hands and it is easier to carry than your cake of soap and your sink and water to wash your hands

Pure alcohol evaporates too quickly to kill the virus.  That's why medical sprays use around 80%.  Most hand sanitisers are 60%.  Less than 50% won't kill.

Agreed and thats a huge concern, is it down to the weather or something else, only further time will tell.
